If you’re a traveler, you know the challenges that await on the road. It can get pretty lonely, so companions are always welcome. Any companion can help ease the journey, even a cat. Of course, you won’t find that many strays eager for interaction. They’re often too afraid of people, but not Turkish cats.
A world traveler that goes by the name pacificreverie on Instagram recently release dozens of photos he encountered on his trip to Istanbul. The Turkish cats loved the attention they got and literally posed for the pics. You’ll see two cats cuddling each other by the Bosphorus Canal and other strays that just love posing for the camera.
Pacificreverie loved Istanbul and can’t wait to return. Not just for the city, but for the cats as well.
It was a chilly day, so maybe they were huddling only for warmth? But then why would they sit atop this windy wall? They are exposed to the elements here.
I don’t have the answer. Other than that they were just enjoying the view, like everyone else walking by that day. They are clearly at peace.
Nearly every cafe has cats on the tables. They are the real guests. People eat and sip chai around them.
This guy hardly lifted his head to say “hello”. He was in no way threatened by the bustling cafe. It made me happy inside.
Two strays. This scruffy boy hopped up and wouldn’t go. I didn’t mind at all.
They come running, demanding to be picked up! I said “okay” every single time! I cuddled as many as I could but still left so many in need of a hug.
