Chained Lioness Rescued from a Drug House Finds Happiness at Big Cat Sanctuary

Big Cat Rescue, one of the world’s largest accredited sanctuaries for abused and abandoned big cats, has given a new lease on life to Nikita, a lioness found in terrible conditions. Today, she thrives under the loving care of the sanctuary, enjoying a life she truly deserves.

Nikita’s Heartbreaking Past:

Found chained to a wall in a Tennessee drug house, Nikita the lioness had been living a life of misery on a cold concrete floor, with severe swellings on her elbows and dangerously thin. Rescued by authorities, she was initially taken to the Nashville Zoo at Grasmere. However, due to her declawed state, Nikita could not live with the zoo’s other lions, requiring a new home.

A New Beginning at Big Cat Rescue:

Big Cat Rescue, which houses over 80 rescued big cats, including lions, tigers, bobcats, and cougars, learned about Nikita’s plight and decided to offer her a second chance. Under their care, Nikita has transformed into a strong, healthy, and stunning lioness who enjoys playing, rolling on her back, and interacting with visitors.
