Greek Cat Sanctuary Now Hiring Caretaker To Live On Island, Supervise 55 Cats!

With summer fast approaching and the sun shining brightly, travelers around the globe begin their search for this year’s holiday destination. With Greece truly being one of the best summertime destinations in the world, it sure offers a broad variety of islands to choose from, which can also make picking one particular island quite hard. However, among the 170 inhabited islands way out there in Greece, there are some that stand out in many ways. Syros, the capital of the Cyclades island group, just happens to be one of them. The population is quite small and this is a very unique place to live.

God’s Little People Cat Rescue is aiming to provide assistance to all of the animals in this area that are in need of help. Dozens of stray cats currently reside on this island and they are given the help that they need by an artist named Joan. God’s Little People Cat Rescue on the Greek Island of Syros is now looking to hire a live-in caretaker. The position includes actually living in an adorable house on a stunning paradise island free. The job ad has ever since gone viral with thousands sharing it on Facebook. The posting states. “A very special position and living circumstance on offer on a little Greek cat island called Syros (a small paradise no less!)”

She and her husband are more than pleased to offer food and shelter to all of these cats. They have lived on the island since way back in 2010 and have been running this cat sanctuary for some time now. The couple has since decided the time is right for them to move on. In order to do so, they will need to find someone else who is willing to step up and take care of these cats. Their Facebook ad literally seems like something out of a dream.

This is a picture perfect job opportunity waiting for you. The job takes a total of about four hours a day of work and involves feeding, cleaning up after, medicating and loving the 55 cats at the sanctuary. Applicants who are nurses or trained vets will be given first crack at this job. The salary is €500 euro per month (which equals about $571), Joan Bowell, who is the founder and owner of the cat sanctuary, tells CNBC.

In addition to living on a beautiful island, you will also get to live a tiny house with a beautiful garden. The views are simply to die for as well. The ideal candidate for the position would be someone who loves and appreciates cats. The cats must obviously be fed and they also need plenty of love and attention.

Interested and mature cat-lovers who can commit for at least six months may apply and video interviews will be held at the end of August. The utilities which are associated with the home are included and do not come out of the employee’s pocket. Competition for the job may be tough.
